This Program in Early Childhood Education is available in full time, part time, and hybrid formats. The program is designed for aspiring and practicing teachers, caregivers, nannies, classroom assistants, and individuals seeking professional training in early childhood education.
Course areas include Child Development, Child Psychology, Learning Through Play, Curriculum Models and Educational Philosophies, Observation and Documentation, Learning Environments, Health, Nutrition and Safety, Age Appropriate Lesson Planning, Language and Literacy Development, Creative Arts, Behavior Guidance, Emotional Regulation, Family Engagement, Classroom Management, and Professional Practice.
Students explore leading early childhood approaches including Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Emergent Curriculum, Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligences Theory, Vygotsky's Scaffolding Approach, and Pat Mackdowny's IMLS Framework, while developing practical skills through classroom based learning and hands on experience.
