About us
We begin with utmost gratitude to the Almighty. This journey is very close to my heart. Back in 1990, after completing my M.B.B.S., I could not continue my post graduation. I had become a mother of two beautiful children, both under the age of two. At that time, I often wished there was a childcare place I could truly rely on. That feeling stayed with me. As a mother, grandmother, and doctor, I know how difficult it is to leave your child in someone else's care. It is never a small decision.
When we started Dr. Sofia's Daycare and Learning Center in 2007, we never imagined it would grow like this. In the beginning, it was just me and my daughter Sobia, caring for a few children in a very small space. We were the first independent private daycare in Karachi, and there was no instruction manual to follow. We learned slowly. We built our systems through experience and through respect for the working families who trusted us. At that time, daycare was still a new idea for many people. But we knew parents needed support, and children needed a place where they could feel safe, loved, and settled.
Today, with my daughter Sobia, my son in law Asad, and our dedicated team, Dr. Sofia's Daycare and Learning Center has grown into a multi-location childcare and preschool franchise, with corporate companies also trusting us with their daycare needs. But our biggest achievement has never been company growth. Our greatest honour is knowing that, over the years, we have supported many mothers as they completed their F.C.P.S., M.C.P.S., Ph.D., Master's, Bachelor's, and continued demanding careers with more peace of mind. For us, childcare has always meant safety, hygiene, learning, and warmth. Every child deserves a clean, secure, and nurturing place to spend the day.
We are proud of our teachers, governesses, nurses, and staff who care for children with patience and dedication. Their loyalty has helped make Dr. Sofia's Daycare and Learning Center what it is today. We are also deeply thankful to every parent who has trusted us with their child. This journey has been beautiful, humbling, and full of learning, and we look forward to continuing this work with the same responsibility and love.
