In April 2018, Sobia Rahman, Co-Founder and Program Director of Dr. Sofia's Daycare and Learning Center, had the honor of being invited by the Government of Sindh, Pakistan — Special Education Department, to participate in an official meeting regarding the formulation of curriculum and syllabus for students with special needs.
The meeting was held at the Sindh Secretariat in Karachi under the chairmanship of Mr. Tipu Sultan, Deputy Secretary of the Special Education Department.
She attended the meeting as the representative of Dr. Sofia's Daycare and Learning Centre, Karachi, where she shared her views and suggestions based on her experience in early childhood education and working with children and families.
Being included among professionals, educators, and government representatives working toward improving special education in Sindh was a meaningful experience, and receiving a Letter of Appreciation from the department afterward made the occasion even more memorable.
The experience reinforced the belief that even small contributions from educators and childcare professionals can help shape more inclusive and supportive learning systems for children with special needs.
